Bernardo Silva, Sterling and Gundogan each scored as Manchester city beat bournemouth 3-1 to extend their lead to five points from Liverpool.

Bernardo Silva opened the scoring for manchester city converting a rebound after Asmir Begovic had stopped Leroy Sane’s shot.

Callum Wilson equalised for Bournemouth just before the end of the first half when he headed in a cross from Simon Francis. Callum Wilson has been directly involved in 12 goals in his last 15 Premier League appearances (8 goals, 4 assists).

Manchester city regained the lead from another well-worked move. Begovic blocked Danilo’s effort and Raheem Sterling took the rebound to score against the Cherries for the sixth successive match as Manchester city player.

Ilkay Gundogan secured City’s victory as they maintained their 100% Premier League home record when he made it 3-1 from Sane’s low cross.  Leroy Sane has provided more assist than any other premier league player since the start of last season 20 in total.

AFC Bournemouth’s fourth successive defeat drops them to ninth place with 20 points.

Manchester United failed to win for the third successive match in the premier league coming from 2 goals behind to draw against Southampton.

Stuart Armstrong opened the scoring for the Saints after 13 minutes of play when  he buried a low drive for his 3rd goal in two Premier League matches.

Southampton doubled their with a wonderful 20-yard free-kick by Cedric Soares after a Marcus Rashford fault, the first he has ever taken in the top flight.

Romelu Lukaku then ended a 13 matches goal drought in the premier league converting a Marcus rashford assist.

Six minutes later, Jose Mourinho’s men were level. Marcus Rashford cut a low ball across the six-yard box and Ander Herrera smartly flicked it between Alex McCarthy’s legs.

United remain in seventh place on 22 points, 16 points from top spot held by Manchester city.
